Become a Physical Therapy Aide

Train to work as part of a physical therapy team as you learn how the human body operates and how physical therapists treat certain disorders. During this six-week, self-paced course, you will understand the history of the physical therapy field, including how physical therapists, their aides and assistants, interact with one another and with their patients. Effective communication training is covered so you will be able to better understand and speak with therapists and patients. The specific language that PT professionals use is also covered. The agents that physical therapists utilize to treat patients include heat, cold, ultrasound and electricity devices, all of which will be explored. Strengthening, aerobic, and range-of-motion exercises are also studied as an integral part of a physical therapist’s work.
